What is Stemwave Therapy?
StemWave is a regenerative medical technique that utilizes harmless, yet powerful acoustic waves to activate your body’s natural healing mechanisms. This new technology is designed to help patients with musculoskeletal conditions by increasing blood flow and reducing inflammation.
As a safe non-invasive option, it doesn’t require any downtime and has minimal or no side-effects.• FDA listed
- Safe & effective
- Fast & efficient treatments
- Affordable treatment option
Acoustic sound waves are created using Stemwave to penetrate tissues adding more blood flow, decreasing inflammation, and ultimately encouraging T-cells (or stem cells) to the area to act as building blocked to regenerate tissues. This process is also known as ESWT or Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy.
Shockwave therapy was first used in the clinical setting for treatments in 1985. At that time wave therapy was used to break up gall stones in the gall bladder. This procedure was called lithostesis. Prior to 1985 there were multiple studies in Germany using animals to determine the efficacy of this modality or treatment. By the 1990’s shockwave was being used to treat tendonitis as it was demonstrated that soft tissue regeneration and decreased inflammation was observed in patients using the therapy. Today treatments are well documented in medical literature, demonstrating healing in soft tissue and bones.
Benefits of Stemwave therapy are AN ABILITY TO RELIEVE PAIN AS WELL AS INDUCE STEM CELL ACTIVITY THROUGH NEOVASCULARZATION. In a nutshell increased blood flow invigorating the body’s natural immune response and stimulating an anti-inflammatory response.
What are stem cells?
Stem cells or T cells are the body’s raw materials — cells from which all other cells with specialized functions are generated. Under the right conditions in the body or a laboratory, stem cells divide to form more cells called daughter cells.
These daughter cells become either new stem cells or specialized cells (differentiation) with a more specific function, such as blood cells, brain cells, heart muscle cells or bone cells. No other cell in the body has the natural ability to generate new cell types.
Stem cells are produced in bone marrow, primarily from the hip bone. Stem cells are also found in large quantities in an umbilical cord.
Stem cells are different from other cells in the body in three ways:
- They can divide and renew themselves over a long period of time.
- They are unspecialized, so they cannot perform specific functions in the body.
- They have the potential to become specialized cells, such as muscle, blood, brain cells.
